The NATO summit is taking place in Madrid, Spain on July 29-30. The summit of the murdering machine of the western imperialists must find our peoples on the streets, protesting against war and imperialism. In all cities, we need to denounce the crimes of this imperialist alliance that for more than seventy years has been tearing down countries and massacring peoples.
The new "Strategic Concept" to be drawn up by the summit has taken into account the latest developments on the Ukrainian front and the data that emerged after the imperialist invasion of Russia. With the people of Ukraine paying the price of rivalry between the US-NATO and Russia with their lives for months, the Western imperialists are preparing new plans that are even more dangerous for the peoples of the region. This war is the result of the aggressive policy of NATO, which for three decades has been seeking to encircle Russia, depriving it of its spheres of influence. The Russian imperialist bourgeoisie responded to these developments by invading Ukraine with the aim of drawing new blood-stained borders around its periphery.
But this unjust war is not limited to the narrow borders of Ukraine. It is a war that brings suffering to all peoples. The rivalries of the imperialists continue to escalate, fueled by, but also fueling the war conflict. The danger of these times is pointed out by the indirect and direct involvement of all imperialist powers worldwide, and at the same time the danger of a nuclear threat is approaching. From the west to the east all imperialist forces are ready for the redistribution of the world, which will result in a new round of doom for the peoples. The dependent capitalist classes in turn are tightly tied to the chains of their imperialist masters, crawling behind the various allied war machines. In the Balkans, Europe and around the world, peoples are being driven into another round of barbarism and death.
A number of countries are adapting to the new negative reality, in the context of the dominant imperialist contradictions. The Kiev regime, although not a member of NATO, attends the summit through teleconference participation, thus giving credentials to its American and European patrons. Finland and Sweden are stepping up support to NATO forces in the Russian periphery with a view to joining the alliance. All the countries in the alliance have been turned into weapons warehouses, in order to serve the plans ofNATO. They rekindle the fire of war by sending military equipment to the fronts, thus participating in the conflict. Mediterranean ports and European seas are generously offered to NATO frigates and aircraft carriers. Everything shows that the participation of our countries in NATO is the definite participation in the war and the bloodshed.
In the same way that the imperialists intensify their rivalries, the capitalist classes of the dependent countries intensify their particular contradictions. Greece and Turkey, two countries chained to American imperialism, seize the opportunity to make additional claims in the region. The Turkish policy of "Blue Homeland" and the Greek policy of "Closed Lake" in the Aegean, lead our peoples to an unjust and reactionary competition with irreversible consequences. The participation of both countries in NATO does not ensure peace in the vicinity, but more and more often our peoples are under a constant war mood.
On July 29-30, Madrid will be turned into a fortress, on the occasion of the NATO summit. "Operation Peace", as they abusively call the blockade of Madrid, bans and suppresses the demonstrations, outlaws any action that will denounce the summit of the world's killers. With the prohibition of the anti-imperialist struggle in Madrid, as well as wherever it manifests itself, they impose a policy of fascistization, which aims to silence and strike the popular reactions. On the occasion of these two days in July, new measures are coming against the struggle of the peoples.
Anti-NATO protests must intensify in all European countries. The people and the working class of every country must unite against imperialism and war. On July 29 and 30, anti-imperialist voices must be heard in every corner of the globe. The peoples of our countries have nothing to separate. For the revolutionary and communist forces, strengthening the anti-war and anti-imperialist struggle is a duty. The peoples front against imperialism can put a stop to wars. Friendship and solidarity have the power to break down all unjust and reactionary rivalries. In each individual country, our goal must be to block any involvement in the war, to drive out the bases and to withdraw from NATO; to pave the way of independence, so that the peoples can live free, without the patrons killers of the western and eastern imperialist camps.
