the occupation and barbarous war in Afghanistan
Dear comrades and friends
First of all let me thanks to Communist Party of Greece (CPG-ML) comrades
for their invitation and organizing such a significant gathering in Thessaloniki
of Greece.
Left Radical of Afghanistan (LRA) on the occasion of 10th anniversary of
NATO imperialists’ aggression on Yugoslavia and bombardment of Serbia
expresses its deep solidarity with ex Yugoslavians and victims of the NATO
war in Balkan.
The extension and intervention policy of NATO which obviously started in
Balkan and now followed out side the borders of Europe, not only have not
resolved the problems and crisis in any part of the region but deteriorated
security, stability and crisis in Balkan, out of the Balkan and imposed
serious dangers to the stability and development there.
The US and NATO leading countries through their intervention and aggression
under the name of “Peace Mission” and “ Restoring Democracy”,
killed 2 million Rwandans, 2 million Sudanese, 250 thousand Yugoslavians,
one and half million Iraqis and 60 thousand Afghan for their dirty interests.
Since last 7 years we are the witness of open aggression of US/NATO imperialists
on Afghanistan which was launched under the pretext of “anti terrorism
war” afterward 9/11 event in USA.
The US imperialism by controlling UN, threatening the European countries,
legitimized its all kinds of aggression, intervention, killing, imprisoning,
torturing without any serious opposition from “International community” and “civil
society”.
George W. Bush by intimidation of the big so-called independent countries
in Europe and warning to other countries: “stand with us or with
our enemy” began a stupid unmatched but disastrous war in Afghanistan
in October 2001.
Because of geo politic, economic location of Afghanistan, in the history
this country has always been occupied and invaded by world empires and
had a special site within their strategies.
Thus, the occupation of Afghanistan by US/NATO in 2001 carried out based
on the above logic under the pretext of “peace mission”, “reconstruction” and “democracy”.
John Abi zaid, the commander of US forces for Asia disclosed the truth
of the occupation of Afghanistan: “Afghanistan is located in cross
road of vital interest of USA and it cannot be ignored”. So, he does
not talk about the peace mission or “anti terrorism war” but
talk about their vital interests and strategic value of Afghanistan for
USA.
Afghanistan having a long border with Central Asian which is valued a second
world oil resource region, can be propounded as a great strategic point
for US and other European plundering imperialists that shed two gallons
blood for one gallon oil.
By occupation of Afghanistan and US/NATO heavy military presence in the
region, can blockade its previous rivals such as Russia and China and meanwhile
weaken India, Pakistan and Iran as strong and Atomic powers which could
be emerged as US/NATO strategic challengers.
The US imperialist media by manufacturing Mula Omer, Bin Laden, Zawahiri
and Hikmatyar as heroes in the struggle against “terrorism” aim
to intimidate its European and Persian Gulf region Arab allies to involve
them in war and get concessions from them to practically pave the way for
violation their independence and national sovereignty.
Afghanistan is a biggest world opium producer country which enables the
west imperialists to gain 400 billion dollars from this business annually,
the amount which can afford a part of their war budget in Afghanistan that
is why there was 70% increase in opium production in Afghanistan under
US/NATO after the fall of Taliban. According to the West media the UK which
was deprived from the oil looting share in Iraq by USA, turned to compensate
it from opium business in Hilmand province of Afghanistan. Nowadays around
a half ton heroin is smuggled from Bagram air port (which is in the hands
of NATO) to Europe and America daily. In this profitable business some
members of Karzai cabinet, his brother (Mahmood Karzai), parliament members,
governors, commanders as well as involved and get their shares.
According to NASA survey in 2004, the total value of Afghanistan mines
was estimated 5000 billion dollars. So, this can be a good reason for US,
UK, France, Germany, Italy and Canada… greedy imperialists to occupy
and loot Afghanistan.
US and its allies by sending thousands of kind of modern armaments to Afghanistan,
using and testing them on our people, in fact they made Afghanistan as
a good exhibition center of their armaments and caused to keep hot the
market of armaments business around the world.
On the other hand as mentioned before, the corruption which have been generated
either by “international community” and Afghan Puppet regime
reached epoch. Each body accuses each other for theft and corruption and
involvement in corruption. Both of them reveal part of the real mystery
of their presence and role in Afghanistan within the free market policy
and imported “democracy”.
The corruption can be seen from A- Z of “international community” (US/NATO)
involved in Afghanistan and in the body of their puppet regime. It starts
from EIY Company of weapons to the security, construction companies, NGOs,
UN agencies and finally local NGOs and companies and government high ranked
authorities. Thus, at least based on the above corrupt profitable environment
for shared plunderers in Afghanistan, instability must be kept to justify
their presence in Afghanistan.
Most of NATO member countries involved in the occupation of Afghanistan
to deceive their own people and the people of Afghanistan made “Provincial
Reconstruction Teams” (PRTs), apparently to implement non infrastructure
micro projects but in fact they spy for their military mission in Afghanistan.
During last 7 years of the occupation of Afghanistan by US/NATO as they
promised not only the political, military, economic and social situation
have been not improved but also deteriorated than the time of Taliban.
By establishment of Puppet regime in Kabul and colorful promises of “international
community”(US/NATO) most of 5 million Afghan refugees settled in
Pakistan and Iran returned their homes in Afghanistan but soon notice their
mistake when experienced the disastrous impacts of war and occupation and
had to leave the country once again. In addition hundreds of thousand people
from Eastern, Southern, Western provinces of Afghanistan because of wild
military operations and blind air bombardments of US/NATO, were forced
to be displaced in the country. But the same number left their homes towards
Kabul and other big cities because of poverty, unemployment, hunger who
reportedly being forced to sell their children and eat grass and leaves.
Therefore, the “peace mission” of US/NATO and the presence
of more than 4o countries troops during last seven years in Afghanistan
are confronted to complete defeat and they have not achievement except
killing of 60 thousand people, disabling innocent children and women, destruction
of homes and property of people, increasing corruption, poverty, unemployment
and crimes in Afghanistan.
By electing Obama and the slogan of “Change” as well as holding
several conferences of NATO heads in Europe and adopting new strategies
related to Afghanistan issue, cannot avoid their inevitable and disgrace
defeat in Afghanistan.
The experience of anti occupation resistance in Afghanistan proved that
US imperialism in spite of its huge military and financial power and using
modern mass destruction armaments and barbarous tactics against the determination
of poor people equipped with traditional weapons and local tiny resources
confronted to complete defeat which is a great lesson and good inspiration
for other anti war, anti imperialism, revolutionary and liberation forces
in the under developed and imperialist countries.
The anti occupation resistance in Afghanistan within 7 years has grown
and widen considerably and the puppet regime of Karzai and his foreign
imperialist supporters just keep control on Kabul and the centers of the
provinces.
The anti occupation resistance in Afghanistan as the imperialist media
show, is not limited to Taliban but it includes nationalist, patriotic,
ethnic, tribal and revolutionary left forces as well.
The Taliban movement referring to their Middle Ages nature and barbarous
government has not chance to seize the power and be accepted by the people.
So, the war will be prolonging in Afghanistan.
The progressive anti war and anti occupation resistance of Afghanistan
in spite of uncountable problems and limitation succeeded to play an active
role in the struggle against US/NATO imperialists and their installed puppet
regime in Kabul. The anti war and occupation resistance by influence among
the masses and getting support of people in rural and urban areas succeeded
to challenge the puppet regime in different fields.
So, Left Radical of Afghanistan (LRA) as an opponent force against occupation
and puppet regime in Kabul, call on all people, anti war, anti imperialism
forces and progressive and revolutionary workers parties in Europe to support
the legitimized anti occupation resistance in Afghanistan and put pressure
on their governments to withdraw their troops from Afghanistan. We call
on them not let their governments to sacrifice their youths and troops
in Afghanistan for the interest of US imperialism. They should not allow
their troops to be identified as slaughterers of Afghan children and women
and civilians. They should not let their governments by occupying, deploying
troops and supporting war in Afghanistan, purchase the hate and enmity
of the people of Afghanistan for their nations and countries. Finally they
should not let their governments that by Keeping burning the war flames
and human tragedy in Afghanistan, cause instability, crisis and civil war
in their own countries.
- Go out US/NATO forces from Afghanistan!
- Support anti war and anti occupation resistance in Afghanistan!
- Help injured and disabled children, women and US/NATO war victim families!
- Long live solidarity between the anti occupation resistance of Afghanistan
and anti imperialist and peace loving people of Europe.
